How to play LexLoop

A practical guide to LexLoop’s word-chain rules and modes.

The short version: write a real word, then make your next word begin with the final letter of the word before it. Keep the chain moving before the clock runs out.

Play LexLoop

Build a chain one letter at a time

Every LexLoop run starts with an open choice: enter any real word with at least three letters. After that first word, the last letter becomes the starting point for the next one. For example, CLOUD can lead to DRIFT, which can lead to TIME. The next word after TIME must start with E.

There is no single perfect route. A familiar short word may be the quickest way out of a difficult letter, while a longer word can help grow your score. The challenge is deciding what to use before the timer gets low.

The core rules

Repeated words are a common trap. A word that was useful early in a run cannot be used again later, even if it fits the letter. It pays to notice the words that have already landed in your chain.

How scoring works

LexLoop rewards both word length and quick thinking. Each accepted word earns base points, then the game adds a length bonus and a speed bonus. That means a longer word can be valuable, but waiting too long to find one may cost more than it earns. When the clock is tight, a clear valid word is often the smart play.

Your best score, longest accepted word, and completed runs are shown in your player stats. Guest progress stays on the current device. Signing in is optional, but it lets LexLoop back up those stats across devices.

Classic and Blitz modes

Classic is the standard 30-second run. You begin with three hearts. Invalid words can cost a heart, so the best Classic strategy is to stay calm and use words you know are valid.

Blitz gives you 45 seconds with no hearts. An invalid attempt does not cost a life, making Blitz a useful practice mode when you want to test ideas quickly. It still rewards a long, clean chain, but it gives you more freedom to experiment.

What hearts do

In Classic, hearts are your recovery option. A heart can revive a broken run and restore the timer, letting you continue the same chain. Some hearts can be earned through streaks and achievements. If you sign in and reach a seven-day consecutive login streak, LexLoop awards one heart the first time you reach that milestone.

A good first run

Start with a word whose last letter gives you choices. Letters such as D, R, S, and T often make it easier to continue than a narrow letter such as X or Z. Keep an eye on the previous word, think of two possible replies, and submit the simplest valid option when the timer begins to feel urgent. After a few runs, you will start recognizing the letters that slow you down and the ones that keep a chain alive.
